A Brighter Future

Updated: Jan 16, 2021

Our Lord uses light and darkness a lot in describing how he is different than the world we live in and is so doing, how we are to be different also. One example is in 1 John 1:5-10.

5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all[a]sin.

8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.

Also in 1 John 1:7-10

7 Beloved, I am writing you no new commandment, but an old commandment that you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word that you have heard. 8 At the same time, it is a new commandment that I am writing to you, which is true in him and in you, because[a] the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.9 Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. 10 Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him[b] there is no cause for stumbling.

Using darkness and light is a wonderful way to show us how our creator and we as his people are different from the world around us. This idea of being different from the world is one of the reasons for me to begin Maricopa Christian Academy.

A Christian school should look different in as it is here to support parents in the training of their children. ICA is designed not around pleasing students and their wants but instead designed to meet parental expectations for their children's training.

A Christian school should look different in that the education provided should not only be meeting each individual student's educational needs, but also provide an education unmatched by secular schools. As a culture, we have come to accept the modern educational system as all there is in providing an education to our children. It is not. Maricopa Christian Academy is a bright and positive contrast to the public, private and charter schools that surround us.

I hope you will continue to read all my blogs to help you have a greater understanding of the education potential of Maricopa Christian Academy for your children.
