Here’s what the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) says about its school accreditation program:
“EE–12 School Accreditation with ACSI engages schools in a rigorous, holistic process of organizational appraisal and improvement that engages every school constituent. Our protocol provides a highly regarded Christian program for member schools. We have partnerships with all the U.S. regional accrediting agencies and offer joint accreditation with numerous accrediting organizations. Every step in our accrediting process is designed to be useful for driving improvement in private schools.
• Biblically based, research-aligned protocol
• Collaborative improvement process”
Last spring, a superintendent from a Christian school in Prescott and a principal from a Christian school in Phoenix spent three days observing, meeting with, and discussing every aspect of our wonderful school. Parents, teachers, and I were all part of the accreditation process.
This past June, ACSI granted Maricopa Christian Academy full school accreditation.
Congratulations to our teachers and parents, whose dedication and support helped make this achievement possible.
Why is accreditation important?
Accreditation gives Maricopa Christian Academy recognition and opportunities that would not otherwise be available.
One important benefit is the ability to apply for certification through the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP), allowing the school to enroll qualified international students.
Accreditation also makes it easier for students to transfer into Maricopa Christian Academy from other accredited schools. In addition, many colleges and universities prefer or require applicants to graduate from an accredited high school. A diploma from an accredited institution is also required for many scholarship programs and forms of financial aid.
While we celebrate this important accomplishment, our mission remains unchanged. We will continue to be a school that focuses on the education of each individual student while supporting parents in the training of their children.
All to the honor and glory of our Lord Jesus Christ!
