As we begin the second semester of our third year, I continue to grow in the why and how of being thankful. Being thankful is realizing it is not my will but my Savior's will that sustains me each day.
It is my turn to lead my Tuesday Bible study this week from Luke 17. In the healing of the ten lepers, only one returned to give thanks to Jesus for the loving and merciful healing. The rest ran off to the priest as Christ commanded. Obedience is expected as well as giving thanks to he who holds us in his arms.
Daily I am thankful for my beautiful wife who loves me, two amazing, healthy and prosperous sons, five beautiful grandchildren and a mother who still gives the biggest smile when I enter the room.
I have a church that blesses me with a community of believers I share my life and faith with.
And much thanks is given each day for the opportunity to be a part of Maricopa Christian Academy. To the two board members, Pastor Andy White and Diane Woodhead, whose encouragement and support have made the school possible. The two women who daily work their hearts out teaching our students, Mrs. Trimmer and Mrs. Williams. The best school parents ever who not only entrust their children daily with us for over six hours each day but continue to say nice things about the school. And for the thirty students who attend. They are all a blessing to give much thanks for each individual made in the image of God.
Psalm 107:1 "Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!"
