We are an official non-profit recognized by good ol' Uncle Sam. At least that is what I hear. The IRS said the official letter is on its way to arriving any day.

Board member Diane Woodhead gracefully pushed, pulled and even prodded this official recognition from the federal government. At the end, she had providential and supportive assistance from David Scian, Exempt Organizations Specialists with the IRS. Together, over the span of about a year, they achieved the approval on its way.

What does non-profit mean? A 501(c)(3) organization is a non-profit organization with tax exempt status that is dedicated to the general well-being of society.

We are not alone in being a non-profit. The list includes Doctors Without Borders and the American Red Cross. Locally the Barry Golwater Institute for Public Policy Research and Center for Arizona Policy are two of the better known entities.

As always, praise to Him who is merciful, gracious, slow to anger and who has abundant, steadfast love.
